Re: 1976 GL1000 Project #3
The 76 rode off into the sunset yesterday under a new owner. He was happy with it in primer and plans on painting it himself. Now I need to find a new project.

It’s tempting. I’ll probably take a break from Goldwings. I got a call from a friend last night and he has a 57 Chevy he wants me to put a later model motor and tranny in and install a modern wiring harness. Probably keep me busy for a couple of weeks.

Re: 1976 GL1000 Project #3
Looks good. I only noticed it today, but the pipes are aftermarket.
Looks like you did a bit to clean up the hanger for the tips. Are they just bolted straight to the headers, or is there a transition pipe from header to tips?
I'm interested as I'm working on an exhaust fix for the rotted pipes on my '82 GL1100 project.

There bolted straight to the headers. I did cut and re-weld them to give them some up sweep and rotated them in the process to help the cobbled up hanger situation.NotSoLilCrippseys wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 8:58 pm Looks good. I only noticed it today, but the pipes are aftermarket.
