Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
No rush, enjoying watching your updates. I did see it from overhead so it is not the mount as much as the visibility from the side that I want to see. My engine is out so lots of options for me other than the GL1200 location and brackets which is my current plan.

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
I wanna get a cleaned up cam cover to remove the fuel pump mount boss and simplify that side
Might take the existing mount, cut off the mount and weld it up. Someday....

If you aren’t opposed to knocking off the rear of the cam, you can always make a simple plate like I did.

Yup, that's one option I considered as well. Too lazy to remove the cam right now though, haha!

That only works if you have an electronic tach

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Have a C5 ignition which has a tach output and I have a Koso multi-function gauge that would work quite nice

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
I need the tach on mine, so I just cut off the top.

No need to pull the cam…light blow with a dead blow hammer, and you will have the piece in your hand. Pop a seal in and cover it up.wannabridin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 12:02 pm Yup, that's one option I considered as well. Too lazy to remove the cam right now though, haha!

Say whaaaa? It's that easy??? No effect to the cam or any valvetrain components?wingrider wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 8:54 pmNo need to pull the cam…light blow with a dead blow hammer, and you will have the piece in your hand. Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
A few recent pics. Need to figure out a better battery hold down, but this will work for now
Also, I need to purge my parts storage bins. I'll be selling/giving away quite a bit of my parts cache. Comstars, dyna ignition, stock carbs, electric fuel pump, etc etc. Stay tuned

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Yep, no issue, hit it fairly stout, it is supported well enough, and they seem to be slightly brittle. Can’t easily go back, so be sure you want to do it.wannabridin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:19 amSay whaaaa? It's that easy???
