Eureka. The plates seemed to break free yesterday as I rocked the wheel. I'll be out there later on to work with it some more and maybe get that test ride I've been wanting. Got some chores to get done before play time.

Test ride went ok but not great. I'm not thrilled with the performance and it rides like a log wagon compared to my other bikes. Still needs seals for the bags and the starter is going to be a pita. It runs, shifts and stops and that is a huge improvement. Also the speedo was not working. As of now there are three things on my list. Bag seals, starter and speedo.

Speedo cable was broken and the only spare I had was about 6 inches longer. It will have to do. Left cylinder head started squirting water through a small crack in the side, replaced the head. Petcock was leaking and caused a hydro lock, replaced. #1 cylinder drops out at idle and seems to suck in oil from somewhere. Takes a while to burn off and return to normal. Not sure what is causing that. Re-did the compression test and it's 145 to 155 across the board. Another puzzle is the inner fairing above the gauges bounces a lot when riding. Added some large washers to where the inner and outer mate to increase stability. Also made sure all the mounting bolts were tight. Next test ride will tell if I made progress.

The bounce in the fairing seems a little better. Surprised to find the air shocks still hold pressure. Speedo cable makes a lot of noise, will have to see if I have another one laying around. Smoke still comes and goes on the right side.
Taking a chance and listed it on Marketplace. Getting lots of looks and three questionable inquiries. Won't hurt my feelings to see this one go away.

Closing this chapter. Was a good day today as a buyer liked what he saw and gave me full asking price. The kicker was he wanted me to transport the bike to his house after the sale. He made a fair offer for the transport and the sale hinged on delivery. I agreed and after a long drive she has a new home. Done
