Yes you are correct I meant sleaving rather than
Sleeping. My first is my 77GL1000 and my first love.
I'm 65 and only have a year or two as a "chicken" timid rider. But the more I ride the better I get.
But still ultra wary of my abilities and those driving round me. I'm more of a Dick VanDyke "Roby Baby" but portly type guy at present. I too am a work in progress.

Thanks. Just came in from a ranch country ride. Best ride of my life.
I think I just might be all in. Couch surfing to me has always been a bore.
Sitting and watching others pretend to live their lives.
My broinlaw wanted to get his dad one of those battery powered carts for Geezers so he could take it easy at 85. I told both my broinlaw and father in law who btw is an old duffer ,"All those battery powered buggy riders just hasten the trip to the grave yard." You should not ever have one unless there is no choice in the matter.
I'm thinking about making an advanced directive that says:
If there is no hope for survival then only give palliative care and do not resuscitate.
In my will I leave most of my fortune to my two kids. But if either has the docs keeping me alive unnecessarily then they will get ZIP.
And I'll make sure the kids know this in advanced.
So they are my plan A in my will.
Plan B they get nothing and all my favorite causes will get my bank roll.
Easy peasy.
No couch rider here.

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Well it's been a while since I posted up... Finally got my frame back from repairs.. $700 later... But it's quality work.
I've just spent the day sandblasting the frame getting it ready for a couple of touch up repairs.. Nothing major.
I ordered all my brake rebuild stuff from brakecrafters which arrived during the week. So I can now take my master cylinders in and have them ezysleeved... Stainless sleeves.
And now I'm just waiting for my progressive rear springs and seal kit to arrive.
Still plenty to do...

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Hey all.... Finally starting to tick along again.... Had master cylinders stainless sleeved... Called ezy sleeves here in Oz...
Started getting frame ready and some more cancer under one of the frame braces so ended up cutting it out repairing and re-fabricating a substitute brace which in the end turned out well...

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Started pepping for painting over past week. There were a few blemishes in frame that I've tidyed up. I've since found a few spots that are a bit light on in paint but I'll airbrush those at a later time. But I'm pretty happy with end result today of frame and various other parts..

I wasn't Sure which way to go with diff housing.... Polish it or paint and clear coat it.. Ended up painting.. Which I think was best decision at end of the day...

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Million $$ question... Ive got 2 sets of panniers fairings etc.. But I dunno yet. One fairing is pretty poor condition but bags are OK. Other set is the Samsonite/Honda line luggage which is apparently fairly rare. Yet I kinda like the naked wing as well... Here in Oz a fairing makes ya hotter... Well it does on my blackbird...Steven UK wrote:You don’t do things by halves do you...! Good luck. Are you going back full wing or naked ?

It's a labour of love... I had a 76 wing when I was 17...many moons ago. I loved that bike. So I'm revisiting my youth I guess you could say.
Think my next resto is gonna be a suzi GS1100G if I can find one...
Few more challenges yet with wing. I've just found last nite that the rear mudguard is fairly rotted where tail lights are mounted but I think I can repair it... Cut out the piece and fabricate a piece into to it.. Fairly straight forward... I thinks...
The adventure continues..

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Another update which I wanted to share. In the above posts I've added some pics of frame and swing arm painted.
Im no spray painter... But I'm seriously impressed with KBS coatings. The rust seal that I've used I feel, has finished better than factory. The finish has not had a clear on it or been cut/polished. This is the finish. So I can highly recommend these products.
So for my engine paint it's going to be same as I've done for the diff but using the kbs diamond clear as well. All other parts now like radiator etc are getting same treatment once I've finish sand blasting them all...

Re: my 1100 rebuild/resto
Heyas... I've been pondering paint colours for the body work on my wing... I love the Honda candy reds... My CBR1100XX SUPER BLACKBIRD is a lovely red.
And I wanted to go something like the original wine Berry red. There was a wing a while ago on gumtree here in Oz which was a lovely example.

But that red is a little light for me... I want something a tad darker... Mazda cars currently have a really nice red... Soul crystal red.

Ah yes, the Mazda 46V paint code....my buddy wants to paint the 75 that color....one of the few reds I really like. Although, technically I have always been a sucker for a red head!
