Really beautiful bike. Am rebuilding a 1975 bike and I want to give it the sulphur yellow paint. What is the best way to get the correct mixture. Also, where did you buy the replacement stripes for the tank?

Great! Keep them alive... I got my sulfur yellow paint my other colors as well) two ways. 1st was from colorite it VMR ( vintage motorcycle restoration paints) both online, kinda expensive. Now I go to a local auto paint supplier and I had them computer match from one of my original bikes. I have them put into spray cans and a little in a pint . I use USC max clear high gloss two part clear spray can clear. It has a hardener capsule inside the spray can you break. I get it at amazon for a better price but auto paint stores have it too.
I get my gl1000 decals from yamahatopdog on eBay. Just type in honda gl1000 tank decals on eBay and he’ll pop up. I’ve tried a few suppliers of decals and for the gl I like this one the best. For all my other Honda’s I use diablo vintage decals out of Toronto. Hope this helps

Thanks so much for the information. It does help. I will be posting pictures and doing an update of my rebuilding process starting tomorrow. I sure would be asking for some help on some of the ideas I have.
