Apparently there is no such thing as installing the radiator hose stub "Canadian style". :-D

Soaking my tank today. The petcock is protected with an inner tube patch.

Hey Y'all,
Is brake cleaner ok to use on electrical connectors? Be nice as around here brake cleaner is a grocery item and therefore doesn't appear on the project budget (as if I had one). :-D

I plan on cleaning them all; is there a tool that helps "get in there"?

Thanks for any advice. :8)

So I've been plugging right along with cleaning things up, painting what I can, and installing bits and pieces back on Donna. Things are looking good; I'm sitting on top of the world. I've even set the radiator, knowing it'll have to come back off, just to take a look at it.
And then this thought entered my mind, " you neglected to attach the wire to the neutral switch ".
Oops

Good thing I learn by mistake.

For goodness sake, TEST the switch before bothering to hook it up! Just a VOM should tell you if it is working or not.

Spent Sunday revisiting chapter 4; I got to set an engine but this time with experience :-D

I've cleaned up the harness and have it back on the bike.

I've got a couple of things to show you.

First the ignition switch connector cover.

Repairable?

And, are the clock "cushions" also intended to keep out water? Mine cushion but I'm sure they won't keep water out.

1) Yes, they make replacement switch modules that just snap on the bottom of the key mechaism.
2) No, it isn't. I recently saw an article where a bicycle inner tube was used to replace it.

Onto the carbs *ominous music*

I've been studying long enough (procrastinating).
Even though Randaak's kit is temporarily out of stock, I'm going to begin cleaning. I have taken a peek inside the bowls and boy oh boy, gunky and rock solid at the same time. Revenge of the dinosaurs.
