Varoom.
Installed the pickup cam 180 off so the first attempt was a failure. Second attempt was a success. Spent the rest of the afternoon putting it back together. Would have liked to taken a run up the alley but the front brakes locked up from sitting too long. Front wheel started sliding soon as I hit the grass and dumped her in the mud. No harm done but it sure was a pain trying to get back on concrete. Tomorrow is another day.

You're very welcome. I'm not a very good troubleshooter, myself, so it's a good exercise. I've learned way more about GoldWings (and motorcycles in general) from following along with threads here than one could imagine. I always 'enjoy the ride!'

After fixing the front brakes I got in a short test ride. Around the block a couple of times then to the gas station. Found a couple more things to attend to. Small drip from #1 carb, rear brake not doing much, air shocks are very low on pressure and some popping under load. I thought the drip was from the drain plug but no such luck. Adjusted the rear brake and synced the carbs again. Seems to start and run pretty good now. I'll put the original carbs on sometime this week and give them a shot while I attend to the drip.

Today's excitement went a little too far. Fixed the leak on the #1 carb. Broken bowl gasket. luckily I have a complete rack standing by. Adjusted the rear brake and installed the plastic parts. After a bit of tweeking I went for a ride. Bike ran well and feels a lot like my 75. About 5 miles in I started to feel it drag a bit. Pulled onto a parking lot to find the right front caliper dragging again. Figured I better head home and BAM. Brake locked up, handlebars twisted left and down I went at all of 2 mph. No noticeable damage to the bike but I didn't fair so well. Broken collar bone. Urgent Care took some pictures and I need to see a orthopedic doctor asap. This one may require surgery. Either way, my riding season came to an end today. This bike needs to go away.

Very sorry to hear about your getting thrown off. Fortunate that it was at a very low speed and that no one else was hurt but a real bummer about the collar bone. Your post may save someone a similar experience in the future. Good luck with the healing process.

The orthopedic doctor gave me better news than expected. No surgery at this time. He didn't rule it out all together but he believes the breaks will heal fine with a little care. I will have to check back with him in 10 days to take some more pictures and evaluate my progress. Plenty of vitamins and protein in my immediate future.

The broken collar bone thing is rough - and I was only 21 when I broke mine. Take it easy for the next few weeks. I'm glad to hear that it wasn't worse.
This is actually the second time I broke the same one. First time was almost 30 years ago on my way to work one morning.
Progress report; Fresh x-rays taken this week shows the healing is progressing well. New growth between the broken areas and slowly regaining movement and strength. Just taking it easy and being careful not to exert on that side. The only restriction I have is not to lift very much. It lets me know right away if I do too much.

Finally felt good enough to mess with the brakes a bit. As expected the spoog hole was blocked and crusted over. Got it opened up and getting the whole thing cleaned up and ready to put it all together. Had to stop for a while as the shoulder don't like getting cold and my basement is none too warm. I'll work on the caliper next. Also went to work for about four hours yesterday. A few inches of snow slowed everything down and we all went home. I'll try it again tomorrow.
