:IDTS: No no no, no no, no ,no...... wow with the way to remove the gas tank, who is responsible for this overcomplicated design, why...
Ok. After a full houer of dismantling the rear and wiggling the thing up and down it realised after some help from my wife who came to the garage asking "What are you doing? It's late". I'm stucked, I can't take this thing out... I give up... I'll do it another day...
She grabbed her phone and read an article on how to do it. Then said: " Pull it back then up and back again" so imidiatly I told my wife. I'm the mechanical engineer here I know what I'm doing hahahahaha yeah right...
So when shi wasn't looking I did that and it popped out.... I wanted to cry from joy but I contain myself after all she noticed her advice did the job... I love my wife!!! So I grabbed the tank and presented to her the trophy.
I did it baby.
And she said " Yes dear we did it"
What ever you say darling.....
How she puts up with me!?

Now some pics.

Noooooooooo crying1 I think I'm not going to be able to save it, (the tank) reserve is super clogged. On has half decent flou, the inside is completely full of rust, extremely putted so may be a good idea to make an aluminum fuel cell, can ad a digital level to de original gage. I'll have to sacrify at least 30% capacity.

Ok now to give the gas tank a second life, leave it over night with a mild acid solution 10% muriatic to water filled to the brim. Scrubbing the gas gage with coke first then I'll try vinager and finally electrolisys, I'm thinking it works like a potentiometer a coper wire wrapped around plastic and a needle that swings up and down with the float? Maybe? So I'm scared of ruining the copper with a strong acid.
How about a gas tank sealer? Are dey any good?

Ok here is my progress so far.

If you have concerns about porosity in the fuel tank, a POR-15 Motorcycle Fuel Tank Repair Kit is an excellent alternative.

https://www.por15.com/POR-15-Motorcycle ... Repair-Kit

Properly prepped first, then applied, it is permanently rock hard.

I know, first hand. tumb2

This JIS interchangeable screwdriver is just the nuts, too! I use it for everything, and carry it in my trike's tool tray. tumb2

That looks pretty darn good! I think a muriatic acid soak would finish it up nicely. I've also used the Red Cote sealer with good results...
