I am amazed you were able to make such clean lines with masking tape. I have used a tape from eastwood that stretches as you do corners, and then masked off the rest. Good work

Thanks rcmatt007!
Been down the same roads with the tape as you have. Once in awhile it doesn't adhere as good as it should and in those cases it's an all out "panick paint" before the tape moves! lolol

Changed my desk top background to this last pic. Are you sure that you aren't a professional photographer? Glint of sun in the mirror and a bit of burble from the pipes. Absolutely stunning Jerry. Every time I see this bike I feel like going for a ride. Well done.

Many congratulations on BOTM. Got to say I'm not normally into café racers but your bike looks absolutely stunning, love the engine colour. On the last pic, you could have swept a few of the leaves up! :IDTS:

Flying off at a tangent, on the home page under the photo of CrazyJerry's GL1000 Café, is a photo of Toolbox's “War Hammer”. Shouldn't it say Bike of the Year 2018?

Maybe an administrator can alter that, or just ridicule me for being a k*#b!!!!

anim-cheers1 :guitar :crosso dancr party2 action1
Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.

Jonesz, I like to play with the camera when time permits and its just a hobby. The counterpart to this is: hopefully through the photos, someone will be inspired by how great these old Honda's can look, and go on to try their hand at it. Sadly, many are phased out of the collector car/bike market by the sheer pricing, but with a little investment in time, money, and creativity, the rest of us can still have a whole lotta fun! The pics scattered throughout ngwclub.com and other venues clearly show how great each of these machines still are - even decades later! Thanks for all your positive comments!

Have enjoyed your pics and some inspiration seeped through.Last night (shortly after happy hour) full of liquid courage I purchased a black 78 although it is still 300 miles away. It is currently very cold here so I sent a deposit so the owner would hold it until the weather improves a bit. Got her for a parts bike price and although she has been sitting quietly in a shed covered with a half inch of dirt for the past 16 years there is great hope that the bike will someday have some likeness to yours. It will be a long project and really that's what it's all about isn't it. Good thing is there are two sets of plastics with it so I have some practice canvas for the colors and paint, but before any of that I will be doin a strip down to the frame, belts, carbs, fuel tank, battery etc etc. Hopefully she is not totally seized. No one knows as it hasn't run since 2002. I have attached a photo so you can judge the similarity to your bike. Are you thinking there is hope or not?
