They are "Sardines" (Sort of like Jardine's - )

Actually, these are an older set of Mac Turndowns (the give-a-way is in the triangular shaped mounting tabs). The more desirable Jardines I've seen, have more of a "U" shaped tab on the muffler. At any rate they have enough sound to be interesting!

Did you make your own seat-tailpiece or are they available on-line. The treatment on your bike is very nice, maybe one of the best I have seen on a cafe 1000. Give us some details on that if you would.

Hi Jonesz,
A few of the items are below, none of which I can obtain locally so online purchases are required.
The seat/tailpiece is available online and fits very well with the exception of lowering the rear fender by drilling it just above the stock mounting holes and using a separate nut/bolt on each side. This new seat also has an included 1157 bulb brake/tail light (no signal lights in that housing). There may be other places to purchase one but here is a current eBay link to the exact model: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Gl1100-G ... 3306652283

The bullet style turn signals are steel casing and also available on eBay. These are single filament bulbs/sockets so you lose the running lights that were previously in the factory turn signals. On the front, I welded the new supplied mounting nuts right over the factory signal light threaded holes and then easily mounted the signals. These are the ones I used for this project.: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-Black-12V-M ... 3010100133

The amber high-low sealed beam headlight was a must-have to further accent the burnt copper trim and they are quite reasonable and a direct fit in a stock 7" GL1000 headlight housing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/7-Sealed-Beam- ... 2527908845

They seem to run great right out of the box using a gl1200 electric fuel pump.
I love the paint on your bike. Good work. Dave
Thanks Dave,
Although I've done two Solex conversions I also had an eye on the carb you used. I would like to do some more reading about that setup so any info you have would be greatly appreciated, or if you have a thread on it that would be great! I actually worked on one of these many years ago when it was in a Datsun but wasn't into Goldwings back then.
I have a GL1200 with the stock setup and it works well but I do like the simplicity of the single conversions. That Datsun carb is especially interesting!!

I am fast becoming a fan of the single carb conversions. The datsun carbs are even set up for cable operation so there is no wonky linkage to fabricate. All I had to do is shorten the throttle cable some and it works great. I had even toyed with the idea of manufacturing the manifolds but until I can get a bike on the road for extensive testing I don't want to get too committed. As I am now set up to do my own powder coating I could offer a quality product.

What shocks do you have on the rear and did you do anything to the front suspension to match?
Teryk
Hi Teryk,
The stripes show interesting color depending on light, etc... The color is actually called "Burnt Copper".
The rear shocks are some inexpensive RFY's and the front suspension is stock (although there is a fork brace.
The ride quality is good on some of our no-so-good-roads down until about 40 degrees.
