MB for the grandkids
The idea for a mini bike came while we were camping. Most of the kids were on electric scooters; my mind drifted back to when I was 10yrs old.... “they were cool!”
It was going to be a bit smaller than a conventional mini bike (one of my grandkids is small for his age). Light enough that I can put in the back of the truck, and have folding handlebars to clear the camper.

No suspension, so it can be a bit rough.

What's wrong with bicycles? That way your grandkids can get some exercise and you won't be disturbing all the other campers nearby.

Re: MB for the grandkids
Oh man, that takes me back in time, love it! I had one and we would double up on it and ride it all the way to the beach and back, about 15 miles. Nowadays, the police will roll up on you in about 5 seconds.

Re: MB for the grandkids
I have been thinking that a roller CB750 and a Predator would make a nice unit. Was thinking the simpler the better--just make it a simple pulley that tightens a belt with the engine swinging on a tilting lawn mower seat mount or an idler pulley that tightens manually...All spare parts lying around
All things considered, if it was that easy, someone would have thought of it by now, right?

Kinda reminds me of the one that I had in the 60s that came from Sears.
No suspension other than the seat was supported by a pair of lightweight coil over shocks.

Re: MB for the grandkids
Wow, this bike looks really solid. You are really grandpa of the year. I wish I had something like this when I was a kid. I hope I can make something like this for my kid too. It looks really cool, and I would like him to have an electric bike like this when he grows up a bit. Does this one have any lights? I have a bright tactical pocket flashlight I could use for this purpose. It’s even brighter than most standard bike lights that I could use instead. How long can this bike ride without charging? And what is the maximal speed? I don't want it to be too fast.

Re: MB for the grandkids
Congratulations, very good with iron and tools, and very pretty! it reminds me of the mini motorcycles that an Italian company, Fantic, produced precisely for the US market in the 70s, with both rope (boat type) or lever starting like normal motorcycles, some engines had vertical cylinders and others horizontal cylinders. I think a model was called Bronco, but I'm not sure.

Welder!!!!
We don't need no stinkin' welders!!!
A buddy built this. I thought I'd throw it in. Everything on there is from Home Depot. I thought the exhaust outlet was a nice touch. Does anyone recognize the fenders?
