I call this picture "beauty and the beast". Nice powder coated head covers and clean heads.... and the engine grime (hint that is not a shadow where the starter would be). Next comes lots of scrubbing

spent last weekend painting the engine. I used Eastwood's aluminum engine paint as it also has a catalyst. I am a little disappointed in that is a duller color the rattle can duplicolor paint.

I had to do that on the parts I couldn't spray when I had it tipped forward on the concrete block. I could just do a light spray all over now that it is tipped back.

How about an update in about a year to let us know how the Eastwood engine paint is holding up. I have been a little disappointed in the duplicolor engine paint as it is easily damaged. I am planning on using a two part gun sprayed paint on my current build (Red Belly) but not sure what I will end up with. I am not trying for the stock.

Finally caught up on this thread.

Beautiful work there, she's really gonna shine.

Is it anal retentive or anal-retentive?

I'd go with the dash between, because I'm a little orderly and fussy myself.

and yeah, nice work Rodger.

everything as been hold as we have moved into the winter season, the garage is not heated. Currently I am fusing with how to mount a 1200 front end. The triple tree fits, but the mounts for the gauges does not, so I am going to try an 83 1100 triple tree. Also, I needed to cut off the stop that prevents the front end from going to far. the 1000 has two stops one on each side, the 1200 has it in the middle

Unheated garages can be a challenge. Cold tools are definately a bummer.
