Meet "Reg", an Antares Red 1975 GL1000, serial number #3404, 30,918.5 Miles.

Reg has sat since 2006 following his original owner's death.

Once an award winning show bike, Reg will be repurposed and brought back to life as a stock naked rider.

I hope. :)

First step will be to remove everything.

There is a lot of "stuff" on there.
Normal for back in the day though.

Funny, all that add on chrome and still the stock unpolished, not chrome, valve covers. Did do the belt covers though. :-?

Mine was done up just about like that. Looks and rides so much better now that it's naked.

A lot of stuff? ALL the stuff. Total FarkleFest!

Actually, the stock valve covers were chrome plated, but are flaking...I should be able to get the rest off and do a (weak imitation of a ) SunnBob Polishing job on them.

Here is the parts bike I just picked up, a ‘76 yellow painted black.

Owner changed his own timing belts in 2004, got it wrong, blew it up. No compression on right side he says.

Lots of good stuff i need... original seat, shifter, pegs, who knows what else I might be able to use?

I now have an extra grab bar, headlight, side covers, rear signals, oem valve covers... a veritable cornucopia!

like Robin.... that is what people did, turning them into touring machines (the best on the market in the 70's. Also, surprised the head covers are not chrome as well.
