The frame turned out well, I think. The object of the exercise here is to just keep the rust at bay.

Nice to know the center stand is not weakened by oxidation. Looking good Liam.

Thank you for the encouragement. I don't know about it being a beauty, but I am really enjoying working on it.

Thank you kind sir for the encouraging words. There was a lot of surface rust, but thankfully none of it was structure threatening.
Cleaning, priming and several coats of paint should keep it at bay for a while.

Swing Arm back on. Circlip done. Need to fit boot around the motor end.
Also, I need to figure out how to torque the pivot bolts.

It is more than a bit of struggle to get the tank back in if you want to save the paint the way you did. Good job using much patience. Bike is looking great and almost on two wheels again. Great progress in little time.

The rear tyre (tire) has me a bit puzzled. Visually it looks very good, it has hardly any wear, no cracking visible either.
It is however quite hard, so I am assuming it is quite old. The date code has me puzzled a bit though.

So, is the date week 37 of 1996 or 1986 from the 376 in the first picture, or week 21 of 1995 or 1985 from the 215 in the second?

I know that either way the tyre is close enough to 25 years old. I am just curious.

The size is 120/90-17. The listed size for GL1000 Rear is 130/90-17.
I am going to fit a new tyre, probably a Bridgestone as that is what the bike shop has in stock.
