Latest: I modified a mount to fit a Windjammer lll. I really think the mount was for a gl1000 but, after some careful measuring and test fitting, I made it fit. No photos at this time, but they are coming. I also removed about 7" of the windshield. It was simply too tall. in addition,i put on some leather saddlebags on the bike. Those and the rear luggage rack ought to give me enough storage options. Plus, I have a factory top case, if necessary. Those front turn signals on the Windjammer just did not "look" correct, so, I installed some from a gl1100. Stockers. Yes. :-D
Like I said earlier, pictures are forthcoming soon...

One other note: the Harley Sportster that I received in a trade deal, is gone! dancr action1
It could not hold a candle to the comfort and utility and smoothness of even the worst example of a Goldwing. :IDTS:
After a 200 mile ride, my old back just felt hammered, literally. :( I can hardly move without this "knife in my back" causing spasms. crying1
On a more pleasant note, I got a lot more money for it than I think that it was worth. :-D
Absolutely, no regrets. Now, if I don't have to spend the cash on a chiropractor! :orange

Let's go for a ride! crossy.gif

The headlight came from an eBay seller. I have just put a led "bulb" in it that has diodes in the

middle as well as the sides so it has a "proper" beam. The leds around the perimiter inside light

up and give some added illumination. The whole thing is wired through a Q-Switch which is an

older type of headlight modulator. I like to be seen. It is effective. :-D

I was able to find some losers for the Vetter at a very reasonable price ($15/pr.) action1

Having been riding a "naked" gl for some time, that Windjammer is really nice, for a change.

I think that it was made for the gl1000 because the shelter is a real fight fit.

Been needing a truck. So rode Sonnyboy 100 miles, bought the truck, loaded the bike in the back

and drove home. Pictures to follow.

Life is an adventure! :orange

Are we riding yet? crossy.gif

An easy way to fix the leather bags is to make a form to fit inside, clean and soap them and then soak from the inside in water and let dry with the forms in place.
The leather will reshape and hold for a long time.

This is how I was advised to repair a set that I found in the corner of a warehouse that were misshapen and covered in mildew by a leather smith.
