Hello All,
So I posted a few posts a few years ago as I started my project ... then did nothing except stare at my bike for a couple of years ... then recently got back into it. I seem to have some rust spots on the frame and have decided to basically do a ground up restoration. I'm in the process of disassembling and to date I have removed:
- seat
- plastic pieces
- carbs
- cage / shield thingy - can't think of what its called at the moment
- rad
- motor
- most of the front end stuff
Question is, before I fly at taking things apart on the back end, was wondering about whats the best systematic approach to doing so? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
ptb

Re: 76 GL1000 Project
It's amazing how parts just seem to fall off, lol! Systematic approach would be: fender, shocks, wheel/tire, rear differential, rear brake master cylinder, fuel petcock, fuel tank, wiring harness...

yes that is more or less what happened - also mixed in some gasoline breath until I found the drain plug - now its gasoline tuna breath with high octane burps.
