Board's help and encouraging support lead me to pick up yet another bike. This time it is most desired and rare limited one. Owner had it since 1997-98 and lived in a place without garage, so poor old lady was exposed to harsh and mreciless weather year after year. Looking at bike was evident that wash, wax or even regular cleaning was never on agenda.

He must have ridden it as primary transportation and thats about it. However I could see through the bike and identify the potential. Though friends who have known me for my passion for giving older Hondas a second chance to live, were rather surprized or even disappointed when saw this in my garage.

The ussual stuff, vetter fairing, krauser bags, king and queen seat, scrificying stock seat, headlight, fork ears, grab rails front and rear turn signals very unique and rare in this case even front fender off a 1980 GL1100 but matched painted and golden stripes.

Carbs were changed at some point in time, it has carbs off a 1980 GL1100. topped up oil, sprayed penetrating oil in spark pulgs holes, gave it two days, turned over but would not crank let alone start.

Spark was present only on cylinders 2 & 4, no spark on 1 & 3. Checked and found that black & white wire had come off the coils, connected back and fired her up, started only on cylinder # 4. rest of three carb bowls were dry. Fed 50/50 (seafoam and gas mixture) waitd a day, then two then three and now it has been over a week. signs of gas are noticed in three carbs except carb number 1

in between fired up on 2,3,4 for about 2-3 minutes, died and never started after that thgouth attempts to.

Too cold now to be worknig in garage but now and then whenever i get any opportunity, I do get around doing some bits and odds.

So far, replaced fork ears, headlight, rear shocks, turn signals, grab rail, tail light

Still looking for front and rear fenders, stock seat, tank shelter lid and seat mounting bracket.

Congratulations on a great find. That's a terrific project you've got....nothing that time, patience, elbow grease (and a couple bucks) can't fix. The LTDs are the holy grail of GLs IMHO. Another one "saved" action1 action1 action1

Well, the wheels look shiny! Good luck finding the right replacement parts if you are trying to make it original. LTD's are beautiful when restored.

Congrats on your acquisition! Judging from your signature (MBS) and the pics you've posted, the LTD is in the right hands!

Just noticed in the last pics. That is the wrong seat for an LTD. But maybe you knew that.

Hello everyone and wishing you a very very happy peaceful new year.

Good noticed Robin, yes this is a seat of a 78, but that is what I could get for now, keeping an eye for a ltd seat though.

Thanks Easter,Nick and 5speed, indeed a lot of elbow grease and research for parts and paint cleaning. I did not want to repaint it, rather a clean/er paint with patina is my favourite any day over a shiny but not original paint.

I just put it together to see how she looks, however brakes are yet to be done, I guess changing fluids may work out. Some electrical connectors are damaged and I shall replace them. Meantime if any member may know the size of bullet connectors, 3.5mm, 3.9mm or 4.0mm?

So far replaced (year and model correct used parts)
Carbs set
Tail light mount and light
All turn signals
Headlight ears and headlight

Big thanks to all

77 seat is the same as the LTD seat. That opens the options a little bit. ;)

I bought two different/ separate seats (including one in the photo) and in both cases seller said it was off a 77 bike, too bad both were off a 78/79, still on the lookout for a 77
