At least they had four valves-lol- bummer having to wait. There are a few heads with the cracked portion around the lower bolt. Must be a weak point.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Impressive work Anders. Sand cast a new emblem? Really? Beautiful work. As I read your thread and saw all the steps you went through, it was like dejavu. Great job. Congratulations on BOM.

I was wrong about french gl1000 only having two cylinders. They do have four.

My new heads arrived today. Had them taken apart and cleaned ultrasonicly  Cam shafts from the new heads are crap but heads look okay. I gutted the old head, cam shaft, valve springs and everything else and put in one of the new heads. New orings, gaskets and valve stem seals. Then started the assembly. I got three hours of intense labour and believe I have three-four more tomorrow before start up.

Ooops!

This one just turned up in my garage! 1981 gl1100 with all the bells and whistles, and a super size to that please! I counted 33 rear lights and 34 eagles!?

I was helping a collegue to order parts for his bike. He moaned a bit about his bad hip and house renovation. I told him I could help him out and gave him a lousy offer on the ”rig”. That ended with a surprised handshake.

The rig is now at home and got a quick shower with the water hose after sitting 10 years. Lots of work to be done just to get it going and even more to get look good. Tires are dated 1995 but looks new. Odo reads 68000kms. I’ve never driven a sidecar motorcycle so that is my first aim. Get it going and try it out.
