Bin doing time wasting stuff, Man i hate winter.
Decided to see if i could make the bags work with the build, one in decent condition, right side lid is busted up and chunks missing, about a 4 x 8 inch piece missing, and some pretty good cracks. worked on it today, going to take a few days of liquid filling to get it built up enuff for shaping.
Painted the boxes with box liner, and threw in a stripe...As always, a work in progress

the lid for the right side bag is coming along. the previous pic i posted had the first layer of the repair done, was missing a piece about 8" x 4. i used tape to put a backing as close to the shape needed, then started adding layers of liquid ABS, the Oatey medium black ABS glue is awesome stuff if you have never used it, you can build it up and fill voids, its nothing like yellow glue, it becomes part of the abs your repairing.
Should look decent when done, hoping after sanding tomorrow that i may be at my last coat

Nice job man. I've used some of the two part stuff to repair torn bumpers, but haven't used that before. I had to do some rash repair on one of my bags, but it wasn't nearly as bad as that.

Let each coat dry thoroughly. I thought that was the cat’s meow a few years back, but when it got to be a real hot summer day, it boiled out like it had cancer. I believe the term is out gassing. Parts underneath can remain liquid and trapped in the dry outer layer, when warmed enough they “boil” to gas state and wreck your day.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Ya, averaging 24 to 36 hours between coats, with overhead tube heaters in shop sort of baking it, at least my head feels baked by the end of each day....lol
See how it goes
