Re: Hotrod touring
So... what I would like to do now is just get the bike going. If I can get that far i would like to do the dual Weber setup. Can I do the conversion in the 1000 dollar range?

Gotta start somewhere. Rear tire, seat, tail light shocks. Gotta rebuild caliper, and rear master.

Re: Hotrod touring
I would say you can do the conversion for a little less than the $1000, especially if you were to chance some non original Weber carbs.Wangthang wrote:So... what I would like to do now is just get the bike going. Re: Hotrod touring
I ended up falling into a great deal - used, but never installed. Deals ARE out there. I kinda always wanted the setup just for the cool factor. I wasn't in a hurry and just kept an eye out. Patience paid off in July.

So, once I dive in, I'll be into it for a lot less than $1000. I'm just looking for some "time daylight" so I can get after it. In the middle of a hydraulic clutch conversion for now...

Re: Hotrod touring
Really like what you're doing, but if you don't mind my mentioning it, that bar and the general direction you're going begs for a more modern, low-profile brake master cylinder. I have never been a fan of the tall, round ones - expecially if they become the focal point of the bar.

Re: Hotrod touring
I bought one of those Japanese Shinty masters for my 750 and couldn't get it to prime up. I will upgrade the front brake lines and master soon. Trying to sell my dog for some carbs.
