So today while looking at the engine of my goldwing I saw rust at the bottom of the intake valves. I think I am going to go for a head job and re-seat valves probably new valves. I do need to ask though I have been looking and can not find anything about either replacing the head bolts or reusing them. Any help I can get I would greatly appreciate.

Most of us clean them up and the threads in the block and reuse them. Grease the threads and the washer surfaces under the head of the bolt.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

I think that strictly speaking the bolts should be changed now and then as (all) bolts stretch when torqued down but not sure how many times the head bolts can be used before you need to change them. I would suggest that if you have sealing problems don't just think the gaskets are at fault. That said I reused mine with no apparent issues. Maybe others have had experienced a problem.

Thanks I am honestly use to changing out the bolts due to the stretch that comes from the torquing of the bolts, but that is mostly on my Land Rovers so I wanted to get more information from those of you who have been working on thses bikes longer than I have.

It would be ridiculous to change every bolt at every strip down. I normally only change a bolt if it's obvious that there is a problem with threads or the heads, and of course as I found after taking on my project, if it's missing, which was the case more than once. It's just that the head bolts are probably among the most important on the bike, so perhaps someone has the information about the service limits. Also, I believe some are getting had to find, but that maybe just in the UK.

Reuse the head bolts. As many times as you like. How many times do you think you'll really have them off? Honda did not use torque to yield bolts so keep what you have unless they are rusty or the threads are mangled. Worry more about chasing the threads to get them clean. And us a small amount of oil/grease on the threads and under the bolt head when you reassemble. Also look in shop talk for the revised torque of the head bolts. It is more than most manuals show.

So sorry for the radio silence, I have the frame stripped and going to be powder coated matte black. I have found some issues with the brakes. Where can I find a new rear brake rotor that does not cost an arm and a leg. I would be interested in a floating brake disk instead if anyone knows where I can find one for the rear I know there are some made for the front from automotivefactory.com.
