Good to hear from you again. A long time ago now, I too was laid off from a job after 13 years (magic number) and decided to go free lance as a photographer/graphic designer. Best thing that ever happened to me. Make your own way, you aren't likely to get rich but its a good life.

 thank you for the mention.
Love your bike..and glad I could be a very small part of it.

As for your interest in refinishing firearms. that is something a friend and I have been doing for over 10 years.
If you have any questions regarding it let me know.
I use K&G products exclusively. Their finish is single stage, bake to finish and is extremely thin so it doesn't mess up tolerances.
I started out with our version of a HF blasting cabinet and I know what you mean about modifying it. it served us well until this bad boy appeared in the local crown asset disposal auction.
I paid $600 for it and it came full of media with 3 filters.

You should keep an eye out for a surplus warming oven from a restaurant. That's what I have and it works great. Lot of of room vertically for long actions. We modified it by putting the element from an over in the bottom.
you can see it behind the wing. :)

Confession: I wasn't very taken by the photo that went up for BOTY thinking, nah, not my kind of thing. Then a post by Gord (thank you sir) said take a "minute" to read the build thread. And that's where this Sunday just went!

What an utterly enthralling read. Page after page of detail, perseverance, style and dedication to pursuing a vision. I keep on going back over and over the pictures of the fantastic War Hammer, and because of the superb photography a new detail or two is revealed every time.

As others have said a massive congratulations on the build, but more so, follow your heart to take up your passion. Do what you love and love what you do.

Cheers
Dean

Toolbox: I'm curious how your paint is holding up on the mufflers. I am not a fan of chrome and have considered sandblasting and painting mufflers - the Triumph Bonnevilles I put on my GL1000 and whatever I come up with for my CB750. Just wondering how the paint holds up to serious run times.

Well, I have to say that is one of the best looking Goldwings I have ever seen. I have been dreaming about a theme like this for years, but I did not see this till today, and I went through every page. It just kept getting better.
Love what you did, love the theme. Great job.
