got some work done over the weekend each morning before the heat and humidity got too bad. I removed the rear to front brake pipe and had to take off the engine hangers. I realized they looked pretty long in the tooth, so stripped, derusted and powder coated them

so yes, the rear thread was 10mm x 1.0. Had to take the rear master all the way out to attach the banjo. the brake line will then run over to the sidecar

the sidecar in the background is the only part I have not clear coated yet. It is a two person job to move it, and I probably can do it now. When I put the rear wheel back on, I could not both lift it and finagle it into place, so needed help. Just no grip with my right hand

last weekend started the assembly. I say started because by 10 it was in the high 80's both temp and humidity! Will get some pictures this weekend

But I went to start it up.... turnover, turnover, turnover, (okay with some breaks to not burn up the starter. had fuel... had air.... no spark! Yes the kill switch was on run! started checking with a 12v light probe. seemed to light up everywhere. power to the coils. So started undoing and reconnecting connectors.

recheck.... SPARK! varoom!

I actually have been putzing on this since last August. Turned out the next time I tried to start it nothing. I have replaced the ignition module and it works.

I started putting everything back on. I may have noted earlier I am going to route the rear brake line that should have gone to the front to the side car. I took out the steel line and put a banjo in place
Imagelots of plastic back on including the sidecar and now to bleed the brakes... no such luck as it is leaking at the banjo...
absolutely cannot get in there to tighten it up... but I tried!

so time to take ALL the plastic back off (this was after over a day trying every which way to not do that) as well as the sidecar (this is actually an "after" shot as I started to put back on)

I feel for ya. I found pulling the saddle bags, and the rear wheel made it a lot easier. Of course, I wasn't dealing with a side car.

I almost thought I would have to pull the wheel, but taking off the rear shocks and the inner plastic fender allowed me to get everything out and even more important, back in. I left everything off when I bled the brakes just in case.

Now the rear runs the rear and sidecar brake, and the front (a Nissan) runs the front two brakes

Play in a parking lot with the brakes once you get it road worthy. Just to be sure there isn't any hard pull to one side or the other. Hit the brakes hard at increasing speeds, starting slowly, to see how it feels.

Looks like you have moved on but maybe the problem with the banjo bolt is the little brass fitting inside the master cylinder that mates with the flared brass tubing. If you didn't take that out, you probably couldn't get the bolt in far enough to seal around the outside.

turned out it just wasn't tight enough, but the whole unit had to come out to tighten it.
