thought I got everything silver on thanksgiving, but, alas, I see the tail trunk sitting on the shelf still in primer.... then the cold weather rolled in

so spent my time getting the tape laid down for the silver strip to delineate the two colors. used poster board paper to set this up. I want the parts to run together so the saddlebag needs to end where the side cover starts, and the false tank start where the side cover ends. Used a thin board to bend to the lines, then used a grease pencil to draw the line to the part (the grease pencil easily comes off with prep-sol0..... and then all you need is a steady hand to put down the tape

just an update... have started doing the second coat of clear coat. Had some sort of okay weather this am (now hot and humid). I just cannot move the bigger parts do to the limited mobility of my left arm and right thumb.... fortunately most parts are small.

I have about half use of my left arm, but none of these parts were heavy. Right thumb is still in a brace, but using the paint gun doesn't take any thumb movement. Don't know if I could wrench at all

been able to get a few things done... nice being off work, but HOT HOT HOT so after work early. Does not help with my right thumb still being out of commission.

The front of the bike took a beating being trailered back her in the middle of winter. So I have painted the forks, the radiator screen, and a couple of other front end parts. All black. And then repainted the calipers.

there is a couple of boots that protect a pin which goes through for the TRAC mechanism. These are held in place by a circlip.... sounds easy... NOT!. The boot is flimsy, so not easy to get on the circlip and it covers the holes on the clip.... BTW the holes are smaller than the standard small holes and so I had to drill them out with a 1/16 drill. The plan is to run both front brakes of the front MC (changed to nissen) and the sidecar a rear off the rear

isn't it wonderful how easy it is to reach things. I have removed the front (linked line) from the rear master, and also need to take loose the rear to put the banjo fitting on the front. Had to remove the rear wheel to get to all this of course. Turns out, unlike a gl1000 the thread for the master fittings are finer and the 10x1.25 banjo won't work
