Some updates...

Heads are all cleaned up/valves lapped, new clutch and springs, new stator, engine cleaned and painted, timing belts installed. Going to let the paint cure a bit then I'll be changing all the bolts out with stainless hex bolts. Still need to clean out the oil screen.

Got carbs back from Pistol Pete, but haven't had a chance to pick them up from the apartment office.

Ordered spokes for the front wheel, in the process of cleaning and painting the coolant tubes and center stand. By next week I hope to have the engine in the frame and front end installed. Should move pretty quickly now since most everything else has been powdercoated or polished already by the PO.

This will be my first time lacing wheels, hopefully I can accomplish this on my own.

On to the pics

All looking very nice. Did you do the oil pump gasket mod? Tried to find the link but failed to locate. It was from Old Fogey and meant to stop the pump clogging up over time. Sure someone else will be able to advise.

Engine is in the frame...painted the coolant tubes, figured out someone before me enlarged the bolt holes and helicoiled them to M8 so gotta go pick up some replacements.

The fuel pump is toast, I was going to use the one from my 1100 but will probably just grab a new one since they are still available...don't want to risk it with the fresh carbs from Pistol Pete.

Got new spokes for the front wheel and got it laced up and trued...my first time ever doing it, took a few tries but I'm within factory specs (.5mm) and well within the 2mm service limit...I'm +\- .01 inch.

Hoping to get the coolant tubes, carbs, and front end on this week. I may paint the top clamp so that could delay it a few days. Also will be ordering a C5 ignition soon too. That "should" be the last of the big ticket items for the project, well that and the rear spokes.

This is shaping up to be a nice bike, may have to pick up another for myself as a daily driver.

Carbs, air box, coolant tubes installed. Also a put on a filter adapter from Randakk's. Started work on the front end, took a picture with bars and gauges in place just for effect. The plan is to get the front end squared away before starting on the rear. Hoping to have the bike sitting on the ground by the end of the month. It's getting to crunch time if I plan to meet my mid September deadline, it'll be close but I think I'll be able to get it done.

C5 ignition should be here soon. Need to order rear spokes and shocks.

Here are a few pictures.

Standing up on its own, I really like how the rim blends in with the tire

Cheers,
Thanks. I've been slacking on the turbo bike, but since it's running well enough I just figure I'll get back at it when this one is done.

New fuel pump and C5 ignition (mostly)installed...trying to locate some coil brackets to mount the coil.

I should have the swing arm on, and front brakes rebuilt and installed within the next week. Ordered a set of hoses from SCI, as well as new throttle and clutch cables from motion pro. Need to call buchanans tomorrow to order the rear spokes.

I have a spare set of coil mount brackets, if you want them PM me your address and I will just mail them down to you. They are actually on my C5 coils right now, but I will be relocating the coil pack to the top rear of the engine as I need the normal location for some of my S/C piping.

Looking awesome! Wow you make mine look like junkyard work. I can't wait to see it finished.
Show pictures of the new coil mounting location so I can save them for future use. Many of our customers are looking for custom mounting spots.
