I started to assemble the rear end . . . .

I made some spacers.

There is a bit of room to center the fender. It's the stock fender, just a piece of it that slips into those lovely brackets on the gas tank.

I don't recall right now, but I think someone was looking for some passenger pegs.
Here's a pic. They do have a bit of rust, but the rubber is in good condition.
And while I'm thinking of it, my petcock has started to leak in the Res position. For the last year that I've had the bike there was no leak, & now it's leaking. So has anyone drilled out the rivets to install new ones? Any ideas?

got the new engine in last night and tried to start it with a new battery, got nothing, no power. then i realized i didnt have the starter cable attached, so i did that today, grounded the neg. and nothing! Im certainly no electrician, and prior to putting the new engine in, the electrical system on the bike worked...turned over, lights, etc.. now granted the throttle is not hoked up nor is the clutch, nor are the left hand controls, but that shouldnt limit power being sent to the starter motor right? any help please? how does one test the starter? can you bypass the master switch?
Thanks art

Mr. Committedd, this question is probably beyond my abilities presently, but to start my old machine I had to trace all the wiring from the battery forward & clean everything on the way before it would start. You should have a wiring diagram so you can trace all the fuses, connectors, switches, etc. Also, you can post questions like this on Goldwing Tech Discussions & probably get more appropriate answers from more experienced tech-like individuals.

Be sure the neutral switch is hooked up to the engine, and that the engine is in neutral. Also the clutch switch can effect starting issues.

I had to buy a new final drive pumpkin & flange at a local junk yard. The teeth are now pristine on both.

I've misplaced one shim for the front brake assembly. If anyone has a spare, let me know & I'll buy it (set of them).

This thing is starting to look like a GoldWing. I've never seen photos like this before.

I'm thinking black & blue would be appropriate colors because that's what I feel like after working on it all day long!
I'll try to find a special place for a bit of red.
