Bought a brake line flaring tool a while ago to make new lines for my GL-1000's.
The tool does DIN & SAE flaring

I also fitted the rebuilt carbies using New insulator connector rubbers from Randakk's that are absolutely perfect! dancr

Of course Dixie is keeping a sharp eye on me to make sure i do everything correctly as her life depends on the sidecar to transport her safely about. crossy.gif

that tube bender is pure genius..
I like your flaring tool as well.
I have a snap on double flare tool that I bought 30+ years ago but you need a vise to clamp the bar in.
I like the handle on yours..which gives me an idea.

For some reason I have been dropped from the mailing list (probably waited too long to say anything due to awe) anyway this comment should get me back on the list. Glad to see you are still at it.

I've never seen that version of a double flaring tool. Where is the source of that one?

G'day to All :-D

That flaring tool i purchased from e-Bay for $45au :)

I managed to connect the throttle and choke cables, refit the air box and fit the two radiator fans, also fitted the front brake lines i got from e-bay, they came from a Valkyrie and fit perfectly, just had to make a bracket to mount the spliter.

The exhaust is just held in place by two bolts so i could route the brake line

Most of the time is spent looking for things that have been shifted several times since disassembly.

Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

Great work on the brake lines Peter. I just want you to know that I'm stealing your bending tool idea. :)

Question, would copper tubing work/hold up for use as brake lines?

Not regular copper but most auto parts stores now carry a copper/nickel line. Works well. Bends easy. Doesn't rust.

does it look like straight copper on the outside?. So it could be polished?

Bike looks kind of cool naked. I have a 1500 setting on my back patio that a friend gave me. Been wondering what to do with it, maybe a "streamliner"?

This one is a bit "spare" but has some very clever ideas.

Yes, I've done some fuel lines with it and just a little polishing makes them look very nice.

G'day to All :-D

I had to re-design the front brake line bracket that i made as it interfered with the speedo cable and fairing bracket on full extremities.
