Used the "Chain Saw" method to cut the original tank side covers down to utilize the lower sections, this will all be tidied up in the future, but have to have a starting point.

G'day to Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I have been messing about with the same old issues over and over again, most issues cleared up.

Spent 6 weeks in the UK visiting rellies and a week in Germany to enjoy the food.

I am on the doorstep of finishing the 88 outfit and acquiring the required permits for the modifications, but still arguing about putting a car tyre on the rear motorcycle rim, so I have to get that modified soon.

Stripped the 76 outfit down to modify the sidecar chassis and fit new piston rings as she stinks of burning oil gutless and compressions all 90psi. she will also get a paintjob to make her easy on the eyes.

I have finally started to continue on with my #1 project started 5 years ago, the 75.

Before I set off to the UK I was working on the 88 and whilst at lunch she rolled off the workbench, silly me forgot to chock the wheels. it was a job getting her back on.

I stripped the "Naked 90" down and fitted the wheel in question to have a car rim fitted onto the hub, there is not much room for error so I fitted the saddlebag on too so the engineer can get it right. I will drop it all off in a couple of weeks.

I enjoy riding the 76 outfit around, it handles great, one problem is the sidecar is light and I moved it closer to the bike than is normally done, thus turning left is scary, so I have been traveling about with a concrete footpath slab in the boat, much better but that is not the way to do it as it looks bad, so I am mounting it within the chassis.

Another problem I found when removing the boat, is the wheel just rubs the boat body, I am reluctant to grind the boat thinner so I made a spacer for the hub.

After 2 years of procrastination I finally got down to the horseshoe muffler for the 75, I made an oversized sandblasting booth ages ago, it works ok.
Then 2 coats of primer high-temp and 3 coats of matt black hi-temp.

Today is relaxing and cleaning up the mess I made with the sandblasting.

My last cycle in Telfer was warm, the lowest maximum for the week was 44C, even the flies don't like the heat, they hide and come out in the early morning to annoy everyone.

All the best for the New Year, Peter.

Was beginning to wonder where you had dissappeared to. How many pounds did you gain in Germany? I love their food! Your projects are looking great. Wondering how a ~1mm clearance on the CT will behave, given that tires tend to get larger with age and of course will flex over when cornering. The cornering flex is probably much less on a 2-wheel, but is probably the cause of the rub on your sidecar. Will you be pouring the concrete ballast in the boat or perhaps setting it up for repurposed lead?

And a prosperous and healthy New Year to you and yours!

Love the sandblast cabinet... those poly totes are available around here pretty cheap after their service for food transport then a second life for sap collection in maple sugaring... the third life as a sandblast tent looks promising!
