G'day to Everyone :-D :-D

I find the mirrors a pain to remove and refit, but to remove the glass is near impossible and i had to do this to get them repainted. I guess i could have left the internal color grey and fitted a chrome rim around the edge after painting. Too late now

I have been messing with the wiring and there is no need for pictures as things look the same.

Knocked up some custom nuts to hold the boat to the chassis.

I finally fitted the boat today and i hope i don't have to remove it for some reason, now wiring it all up. I am making it easy to remove the boat for servicing by fitting plug blocks where needed.

Again i am waiting for some "O" rings for the air shock and a fuel line and that's why the saddlebags are not fitted yet.

I now have inflamed tendons that join my heel to the toes on my right foot, very uncomfortable and i limp around the workshop and getting short tempered :x :x :x

Happy and safe riding to all that can dancr , Peter.

There is more technical input in those five fancy nuts than my entire project.

G'day to Everyone! :-D :-D :-D

Well drool over my nuts now as in six months they will be suffering from sunburn and turn dull brown as they are just mild steel, i couldn't be bothered cutting the internal threads in stainless and i haven't learnt the trick of using a hand tap in stainless.

fiddled around with the outfit until i hit the wall of "Can't do any more until the parts arrive".

I have been pondering the thought of turning the 90SE into totally naked and finally made a start, the only fancy piece of technology that i am keeping from the original 1500 is the reverse, so radio, cruise air pumps etc all go into the spares box for the 88 outfit.

I know this will probably take a while and be a sponge for money, but i need something to keep my mind occupied.

I thought the throttle cables would give me a headache, but the 90 uses the return cable in the cruise control but the 88 uses the pull cable, i have converted my 88 into the later and better 90 cruise so i had the spare cable just sitting there and fits like a glove, i just hope everything else does.

Happy and safe riding to All, peter.

using a lot of imagination she should work out well crossy.gif

A fair bit of plastic works on the false tank and a little on the side-covers, some kind of rear duck-tail mudguard and a re-modeled seat, especially the rear part, she is ripped anyway, the handlebars will need to be shortened too.

Possibly a Valkyrie headlight, instruments and rear tail light and indicators all around, then standard exhaust headers probably hi-temp powder coated, std central muffler with some nice mufflers on the ends.

Open to suggestions too :-D

I forgot to publish the result of the trunk sidelight modifications, so here it is.

G'day to Everyone! :-D

Long time no see :IDTS:

Been messing with the 88 outfit and finding many problems, mostly my wiring modifications. Tacho reads twice the rpm that is actually happening, the reverse is a no go, spluttering down low revs and she pulls to the left slightly :( :x :( :x :(

Time for a break so i started on the "Naked 90"

I am stripping her down to real basics, just the reverse is being kept.

Started by stripping the wiring harness and rebuilding wire by wire, many of the components are normally tucked away in the fairing or the tail end which will now not exist, so i have to re-locate the required components to a new location, then make the wiring length to suit.

Have to make a start on the false tank to ensure the components will fit within.

Removed the steel edges from a spare set of 75 that i have floating around the junk pile, made up a couple of very rough plastic straps to hold them together and also utilizing the original fuel door i slapped them together.

It will be making all the covers and having them fit together for a pleasing look that is going to be hard, but i like that sort of challenge.

It has been smashing down with rain for weeks now so the wings are collecting cob-webs.

Happy n Safe Riding to All, Peter.

Really need to slim that seat. They are big and look huge without the trunk and bags. Maybe start with a seat from a 1000/1100/1200? Or go full custom.

Yeah!, that seat is hideous  not sure what i want to do yet? this seat is good for recovering and to fit to the 88 outfit as that seat has been carved out for short legs, but that is not required anymore, comfort is in order, so that seat will get the chop either similar to a Corbin gunslinger or i might just go solo with no rear footpegs or seating for the back.

spent the day making brackets to hold the 75 tank in place, they came off dozens of times and the seat is the only anchor point that has no movement, the rear tank bracket can move forward and back a fair amount.

I used a nut and bolt tightened up to the top side cover brackets that leaves a stud pointing downward to then go through the bracket on the frame then a nut to hold it all together..

I am sure i will change things a little and remake the brackets again.

Happy and safe riding to Everyone, Peter.

G'day to All,

Sunday arvo again and the end of another fun week at home.

Had one set back :( Was playing with Dixie yesterday morning, playing tug-o-war with one of her favorite ropey toys and in an over exited moment she nearly took off my index finger from the second knuckle crying1 crying1 crying1

After mopping up the blood, tears and bandaging myself up i just continued with the "Naked 90" project.

I thrive on this one time type of work, but time flies and you look back on the days work and you have one bracket

I am trying to document as much of this as possible as i am sure others will follow as the price of the 1500's drop.

Here is an old pic of the 88 when i first got her to show you where the components were, followed to where i have put them.
