G'day to All :-D

well a week at home has come and gone, dentist, kitchen plumbing and gardening were the most dominant, but I did a few things to the wings.

stripped her down to the bone and now is the cleaning, checking and re-fitting if not replacing things.

The unspeakable muck that came out the forks stank like a dead cat, cleaned up well though, new bushings and seals on their way.

The bores are near perfect for just under 100,000 Miles, shifter seal is shot, new seal and brace on their way. Clutch will come out when the special tool arrives, then I will mic them up and replace them if suspect.

Cleaned the frame up the best I could and fitted new steering head bearings, the old ones had a detent stop on straight forward

G'day to All :)

I spent last week messing with the wiring harness, modifying it to fit the headlight switch and a few other things.

That's it, just waiting for the daily visit by the postie hoping that all the parts I bought on e-bay to be delivered ..... still waiting :(

well at least next break I can start assembling things again.

Happy & Safe riding to All.

Peter.

G'day to All,

things are progressing slowly, too slow for my liking but I have other jobs to do.

Washed some more parts ready for assembly, but as usual I am waiting for "O" rings and little things to turn up in the mail before I can continue.

A set of custom brake and clutch lines turned up the other day for my #1 project and 8 sets of carb float needles turned up too but my workshop looks like a ruptured rectum at the moment so I have to get other things done and out the way first.

Happy and safe riding to everyone, Peter.

Slow? Um, no. You sir get more done in a shorter amount of time than anyone else on this forum. I have been absolutely amazed at the endless energy and creativeness you possess...carry on! anim-cheers1

Thanks Guys :-D :-D

my typing has improved, I used to have one nostril finger on the left shift key and the other nostril finger doing all the typing, I can now type using both nostril fingers (much quicker).

Yesterday I rode off at 8am for a Motorcycle Safety run with the MRA and the Police Motorcycle unit, great day and returned home 4pm. crossy.gif crossy.gif crossy.gif ........... the MOW reminded me on my return of the promised Gardening, change out of the kitchen sink drain and repairs to the non working kitchen stove top ignite that fizzed out when she cleaned it :(

On the home front I have managed to remove the clutch with the special EBC tools that just arrived, dismantle, clean and measure up the clutch plates, all good.
I had to make a special tool for the removal of the pressure spring and in the rush forgot to snap a photo of it, but did for the assembly.

on assembly you need to align all the plates centrally and with the splined in line, so I assembled it, and using some large washers, 4 of the clutch cover bolts and a set of GL-1000 clutch springs to hold it all in place so it can be removed from the basket and the pressure spring can the be squished back in.

I made the special tool from a scrapped GL-1000 starter motor outer case, machined the ends flat, then the internal diameter, then cut out the space for the circlip pliers and a finger on the other side.

Pop the clutch back in, then the same process as with the GL-1000 of torqueing it up and locking the tab in place.

I was always worried about dropping something down the breather nipple, but there is quite a tortuous path for any foreign body to travel so I feel safe now.

That's it for now, my chores for today being Sunday and my last day on parole have been set for me.

Happy & Safe Riding to All,
Peter.

G'day to All :-D

much time has passed without much happening, mostly due to waiting for the postie to deliver the much needed goodies (much beer consumed in the waiting process anim-cheers1 )

The engine block is back in the frame, starter and alternator awaiting new brushes and clean lubrications, all components for the forks have arrived and rebuilding will start soon.

My 75 is getting neglected, I have all new components in boxes ready to fit, just needs time and room to work, also engine oil, brake fluid and a battery, then she is on the road :crosso

its nearly 4:00am and if the day is fine I will be going for a nice ride so not much will be done today either :)

Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

G'day to All :-D

Things are progressing slowly, too slowly but I always seem to be waiting for that seal or "O" ring to turn up to continue.

She is slowly taking shape, hope to have the wheels and main stand on soon so she can sit on the motorised workbench properly.

Been having a lot of fun at the dentist lately having all my broken teeth fixed or pulled out which is digging into my GoldWing parts budget big time :-?

Near the middle of winter here but the weather has been terrific for riding :crosso

Best regards, Peter.
