The more I ride this one the better it seems. Have not done any distance yet but the weekend is looking up. Two out of three sons will be free and we are going to spend some time together on our bikes. Number three son could borrow one of my bikes if he gets some time, he is scheduled to work this weekend. Changed the oil in the 1200 again after running some seafoam through the case. Old stuff came out pretty black for only having a few hundred miles on it. Perhaps this will allow it to shift without the gnash while going through the gears. Still waiting to hear back from Cyclepsycho about some parts, may need to give him a call. Always so much to do and so little time.

I did finally call them and I have a couple of parts on the way. Taking vacation next week and plan to install that fan switch and get the 76 listed. Out of town son will be here and we plan to do some riding. Going to check with Matt to see if he can use a set of lowers before I start unloading. Need to make some room.

Dave came through with a couple of the parts I was looking for. Little by little now. Did some road testing with my sons yesterday and today. 170 miles and counting and everything seems to be working well. Need to look for a longer side stand since the new shocks are at least one inch longer than the old. Should be an easy fix. Hope to put on a few more miles while on vacation this week.

Found another side stand and a tail light to replace the cracked one. Rode her for about 300 miles today, awsome ride with two of my sons.

Still playing musical shocks for the rear. The last set I tried were too short for my tastes. Changed it all around again and the ride height is better but still very stiff and now the left side started leaking. Bought another set new with the correct length and listed for a KZ so they should be soft enough. Next available work day and I will see.

Ritalz, if and when or if when you tear this bike down I would like to buy the bags. I lost one and without that one I cannot license my 85i. Tail lights are a requirement. I would not need the racks as mine are perfect. After chainging rear dif oil I forgot to tighten the right side bag and lo and behold when I got back from a 20 ride it was gone. My bike is that same color is yours. The pinstripping on mine is a bit different so I'd do best to get a matching set. Keep me in mind. Thanks.

Just had another thought if you really want to go Standard "bagger" I have a brand new in the box set of Saddleman "Drifter" style bags. They are beautiful. Retail about $400 with mounting hardware for a harley but I noticed the bags sit nicely in the Interstate rack and look good. I would trade this full set of Saddleman and hardware for your hard bags and the top trunk. Some food for thought.

My ideals have changed some about my direction with this bike but never included removing the hard bags. I originally wanted a standard but am really enjoying the dresser more than I thought I would. Let me look for the number of a guy about two hours south of me that may have what you are looking for.

I had a 1999 Standard Valkyrie by the time I completed the job with Hondaline bags and a Hondaline Windshield I had a Tourer. Loved it.

New shocks were installed today and this is much better. The ride height suffered a little because the seller measured from end to end instead of the center of the eyes. It's only a small difference and I decided to mount them anyway. Took her for a short ride before the rains started again and the ride is much improved over the previous shocks. Next item will be a new front tire and I will be ready for the season to start.

Front tire is mounted. Was getting to take a short ride when a friend showed up with a small project. He's getting set up for a trip and wanted to mount a windshield. Turned out to be a much longer job because of some upper fork tube covers that needed to be removed. Got it done and it looks great. Sorry, no pics.

Pulled the trigger on a new Saddlemen seat the other day. UPS brought it today and it is already mounted. New foam and leather is very stiff and will require some break in time but it looks great.
