WOW! It really is a stunning beauty! And I totally believe I have the correct measurements!

But I am curiuos... You seem to have the low europeand style handlebar just like mine that was sold in sweden... But what about the rear fender? Didn´t ever seen that on european sold models. Looks like the shorter one like american models. Mine is longer.

And is the Honda sign on the front brake lines original? Thought that one came 78?

Thank you,
My K1 1976 was originally equipped with a long rear fender (even with an additional rubber mud flap) and a black painted rear light/license plate holder as all European market models were.
25 years ago however I did buy a short one and chrome holder because I did like that......if necessary I can switch back easily.
The Honda-sign ist not OEM, I just liked that also, therefore I mounted one....also both day-driving lights are not OEM, I mounted them as a extra safety precaution

Oh I see. I have also been looking for a US style fender like that, Its by far the best looking one! Together with with the chromed light holder it´s so beautiful! Good taste!

Also fitted an original Honda air filter, just to rule out that my Hiflo filter was not the reason bike is running uneven. Turns out I have an old mechanic in my neighbourhood that work at Honda up to 1975! He believes no aftermarket filters are made to spec, so I gave it a shot and bought an original one, but non difference what so ever. Now I know that.

Next I will continue to investigate carbs and if something might be twisted in the forks.....

Ok, this is not very high level mechanics but still I like to write this because it might help others... I took a close look at my front forks today and could not figure out exactly what is twisted, but the handle bar is turning right and the bike is not.

The forks legs are straight
It was running straight before and I never crashed
I was putting all together "by the book" to avoid stiction

.... so I ended up removing the fork brace, then leaning the steering far right against the steering stop and giving the front wheel a hard side kick. BAM! and then road testing... ok.... now handle is pointing little bit left. Again in the other direction.... almost got it, one small kick again. And then back on with the fork brace.

Now my bike is straight again! I am amazed how soft everything is in the fork on these bikes.... Everything is torqued to spec. but still a small hit can easily twist things around. Good to know to say at least....

Took a closer look at the carbs today to confirm they are 755B, which would mean european model. They should have same jets as 755A. I have ordered slightly bigger fuel jets to see if this can compensate for the swedish petrol...

went to ride on a go-cart track the other day. good fun and quite educational... interesting to see how the wing performs in these situations. Me and my friend were the only ones with vintage bikes were not really sportbikes, but we were fine anyway.

not until today I picked up the slightly larger jets for my carbs and also did a leak down test. all cylinder ar loosing less than 5% except for the #3 one that are loosing a little bit less than 10%. Still OK though. So now its really time to tear into the carbs. Im thinking I need two free days in a row and a DVD player in the garage to do this right...

You might want to look in the tank especially the top and sides for rust flaking. Use a small inspection mirror through the fuel sending unit. If it's rusty, your idle passages will be plugged in short time. Ask me how I know.

I am just a little hesitant to open the sending unit as it works right now. Before I just took these pictures through the filler cap... what do you think? : http://ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=572639#p572639

That's pretty clean looking. If it's rusty, it will show a little in the filter. Yours looks mostly black, not orange.

Based on the pictures, the tank looks to be in very good condition. Historically, it might be good to know if the tank was sitting around for years with fuel in it. If so, then I would open the sending unit to have a closer look. Otherwise, I wouldn't be too worried . Just get the Randakk fuel filter, (rebuild the petcock, replace the fuel lines if old) and use Marine Sta-bil with every tankful and you should be OK

David
What is the difference between Marine Sta-bil and regular Sta-bil. I have a boat load of regular Sta-bil.
Thanks
