Re: Got me a 78
Nice bike, Brant! Of course I may be a little biased. I think that Honda got the look just right in '78. Mine are black too.

Re: Got me a 78
I've been doing the head gaskets on my 83, but still able to show the 78 a little love. Installed a dyna ignition, Harleys mufflers, and a more stocker seat. Love the way the mufflers sound. Still lots of stuff to do but I'm riding it around town.

Re: Got me a 78
Just a little update here. Corbin gunfighter seat, changed out the rear lights, deleted the front fender and added a fork brace. need to figure out something with the front turn signals.

Re: Got me a 78
Gorgeous bike. I'm liking the new tail light, it gives it a much cleaner and simpler look, but keeps an air of classic to it.

The tail light is off the shelf from Tractor Supply Company. I made the bracket to fit to the fender.Just what I was looking for.

Looks good, Brant. Extended riding weather this year.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: Got me a 78
Sometimes I'm a good starter but not a good finisher. This project keeps going, and going, and going.I was hoping to have this bike ready to ride in Deadwood last year but couldn't get the carbs sorted out. Worked on it over the 4th of July and I think (fingers crossed) it is good to hop on and ride with little worry. Not a lot of changes since last post, but new belts, new water pump, spin on oil filter, added an electric fuel pump. All the brake calipers have been rebuilt and the rear master replaced. The electric fuel pump did wonders for start up. That old pump must have been on its last leg. STILL need fork seals replaced. Going to keep the front turn signals as is, those short little stalks are hard to find. Might add some Bates hard bags. Deadwood 2021 or bust !!
