Sorry for the long delay.
Here's some recent updates.
Before ordering the custom throttle cable from Motion Pro; had to clean & rebuilds the carbs.
I knew the air filters were too long when I ordered them . The shorter ones just didn't seem to look right.
Ended up cutting a section off of each and gluing it back together. Springs were cut down also.
Here's the glue I used. Worked really well!
Took the rear shock off again and cycled the swingarm about an inch beyond the stated travel. Adjusted the chain, and although it was'nt hitting the frame; it was too loose.
Bought a used tensioner at a swap meet. Don't know which bike it came from.
Here's the parts and the bracket I made.
Made a new rubbing block out of Delrin. It's a bit wider than the original.
On the bike, bolted to the lower side of the swingarm
Before
After
Front brakes made their way back on.

Where at the swingarm pivot did you adjust the chain? It looks a bit loose where it is in the pics. Brand new chains will stretch almost as soon as you release the clutch lever with it in gear the first time. So new chains I make a little tight initially.

Re: '72 CB350 cafe "resto-mod"
The geometry of the CBR swing arm on the stock CB350 pivot points has the chain getting tighter as the rear suspension is compressed. The chain is a bit loose. I'll tighten it a little, and will probably have to remove a link after it's been run a while (adjusters are about midpoint).robin1731 wrote:Where at the swingarm pivot did you adjust the chain? Re: '72 CB350 cafe "resto-mod"
Yeah, chain should be adjusted at the point where the swingarm is a it's straightest point from the frame. That is where the rear wheel will be the farthest away from the front sprocket. More or less.
