It does not need to be exact, just not lemon or orange. I would like a shade of close yellow better than black but I bet he is a good candidate to make the decision.

If he can't match it really well, we discussed the possibility of using yellow thread to outline the panels, which he can match. I have a couple weeks to finalize, as he is busy. He can do embroidering logos, sculpting the base foam into patterns etc, but I'm trying to keep the seats simple. I've been trying to walk the line of making the bike really unique but not gaudy...

Good plan, no reason to add more flare than you already have. The bike rocks already so something that remains simple seems best. Even all black would be fine, but a touch of yellow would be sweet in my book.

BOTM? Why not? Has a rig ever been BOTM?

On the piping, I bought a yellow hide for this reason, but decided the colour was too far off the yellow of the paint to be acceptable.

On yours, I reckon white piping would work very well, as a/ It's 'neutral'...goes with anything, and B/ You already have a white frame and white in the graphics.

It's a classic choice, I've seen it on old MGs and suchlike, always looks good.

I think mine's going to be yellow counterstitched for all the exposed seams, with not much special FX, specially as it looks like yours truly will be doing the stitching.....aaarrrgggghhhhh.

Here's one I designed, but didn't stitch myself...carpets included. I had the Elise logo done by a local embroidery gal on her computer driven machine. The leather is much better than the stuff that Lotus used. Normally there are no gaiters, and the central tunnel and lever hump are bare matt grey painted plastic. The stitching matched the yellow stripes on the body.

Very nicely done.. I hadn't really given white piping any thought but I can see it being a back up color. The Elise interior is great. There was a picture of an Elise, when they were newly released, that fell off a lift, floating around the corvette forums a few years ago. Every time I see a picture of an elise that picture sticks in my head....

I remember the pic, but that was the S2 Elise, launched in 2000. The S1 was launched in 1996, ran till 2000, but you didn't ever have it in the USA, something to do with emissions, I think, but in Europe it's a bit of a cult car now. It was lighter and more spartan, and 'purer', and I prefer the styling....the S2 was a facelift.

This one was a mess when I got it, but I was pleased with the paint, eventually, after I'd re-done it completely.

Very nice! I like the color scheme. I wasn't familiar enough with the lotus' to notice they had different variations.... I've always liked them and had read some about them in 2006 when it was time to move to another sports car....

Designed by two bike enthusiasts who both ride Ducatis. It's very bike-like, no power assist on anything, no electric windows, seats, bare anodised aluminium chassis visible inside.

The Elise is kind of a minimal cage type thing, very nice. White piping or white stitching would work on the rack rig also, so just a decision to be made by the most expert artist.

Thanks guys. Nothing really new to report with the bike lately. I have ordered and received all the parts I need to finish. I left out to work mid january in the middle of what was supposed to be some time off. I was supposed to be gone for a few days and back in. That changed. I am still out working and trying hard to get home so I can put the final touches on the bike. I also started a new business with my brother in law a while back and that is taking most of the remaining time I have. That business has items that are vintage motorcycle related, and most likely I will figure out how to become a vendor here shortly.

I talked to the guy doing my seats and he is swamped like me. He has been working 100+ hour weeks, and the seats are on standby. Hopefully, we can both catch our breathe before our "busy" season starts. I am due to be home at the middle of this week and hope to get the bike done and offically moved out of the shop to my bike garage. I have another bike on deck waiting to begin but due to a self imposed "one project at a time", its got to wait until the wing is done....

Hopefully, I will have an update, and maybe some nice enough weather to take her out during the next couple weeks...
