They were pretty darn easy...drill a hole in the handlebar to get the wire out (mine come out of the tubes just after the control), feed the wires through, then tighten up the base of the light. There is a rubber barrel that tightens as you turn them, much like how a bar end weight works.

Bit of an update for you all...got my injectors mounted in the throttle bodies and the rails sitting on top of them. They are starting to look like they belong!

I also got some of these to go on top of the Jenvey's....need to get spacers to clear the rails for the base plate.

I need the above parts to make this work:

One thing I am curious about. These base plates have a hole in the middle of them.

Being that my Jenvey's will have individual spacers on the top of them to clear the fuel rail, wouldn't I want to put a patch over the hole so as not be there? I should think all if I left it, a great deal of my boost pressure would escape out of this hole.

What do you all think?

So, I have been trying to make all this stuff fit together.

I knew I needed spacers above my throttle bodies for the airfilter base. My fuel rail is about 7/16" proud of the surface of the TB's.

While pondering what type of spacer to make, I find these fancy 5/8" spacers that should do the trick.

They should have worked great! Except, they don't carry them anymore! The owner wanted to substitute 1" spacers, which I figured I could cut in half, so I only got a pair of them.

At this point, I realize that they do not bolt up to the top of Jenvey's. They are designed to go under Weber carbs, which I mistook to mean that they would fit the Jenvey's. I had forgot that the Jenvey's lower mount was different than the top.

So, what to do...guess we will modify the spacers to work!

If you look close, you can see the old holes that I cut off, and drilled new holes to match up with the tops of the Jenvey's.

Now I can cut these 1" spacers and level them off, and then I get to drill new holes in the filter bases, as those do not line up either!

Seems Webers are a tad different....

This project has certainly shown that things can be close, but not quite the same. :IDTS:

Hopefully this part will be done soon, then I can move on to the turbo piping!

Alrighty!

Small update to be had. Got over to my brother in laws place where my bandsaw is, and after a bit of a story, got my spacers cut in half. I foolishly let him help me cut them, so needless to say, one of my spacers went flying across the shop before we did things my way. :IDTS:

I had to change the bolts that held the fuel rail on, as they hit the air filter base, so shorter ones were gotten, and after modifying 32 holes in the 4 gaskets I have to go underneath and and on top of the spacers, I ended up with this:

A694F452-41A6-42DB-AE2C-40ACE93E13DB.jpeg (200.39 KiB) Viewed 205 times
I am liking how it all fits together!

Now I can fill the voids in the spacers, and polish those up, then weld the inside of the aircleaner shut, and then they can be mounted on the bike!

Will have to see how bad these pressure hats interfere with the side covers...a bit of a modification might be needed. lolol

Alrighty, a little update. I ended up purchasing a nice little Lincoln welder to do the little bit of aluminum welding that I needed to do. While I waited for it to come, I thought I would pick up some aluminum brazing rod and see if I could fill in the cavities in my spacers. Needless to say, it mostly didn't work out.

Here is one of the best ones:

The rest of them didn't work out as well, so I left them be before something bad happened. I kind of let this go, as you don't really see them while they are mounted unless you are looking for them.

So, once they were on and mounted,I pulled down the still very red tank panels, and wanted to see if everything would fit, or if I was going to be modifying the panels.

I am happy to report that they fit!

Today I also felt it was time to make the bump stops on the lower triple tree so the handlebars don't dig into the side panels. Measure a couple times and drill a couple holes and we are good to go!

Although they can't been seen all that well, as long as the forks were off, I slipped the headlight brackets on each fork, and made the brake lines.

Hooked it up, and bled the system as best I can. Going to give it a bit of time, but perhaps this Master cylinder isn't the correct size for the Busa brakes. Seems I can build pressure, but the lever doesn't get as firm as I would like.

Right now I have the lever clamped to the grip, so hopefully if there is any air left, it will migrate up.

I'd say I am still quite a ways out...debating splitting the engine to beef it up a bit...

Still need to wire it for everything, get the fuel system put together, and paint.

We did just put an offer on some land, and are closing in July on it, so I will be building a shop to move all of my projects out to...so some things will take longer now. :)
