I have spent some time trying to figure out the Flickr program in order to show the progress of my restoration.
Hope it makes sence.

Wow, it's great to see one come back from the dead. Especially in this case where there are so many good memories attached to it.

Are the boys involved in the rebuild? They must be, what, about 30 now?

Love it!

More pics please!

Great pics and story. I like that tractor in the picture too! In the picture of your wife on the ferry you cab see a large hill across the water in the background. I live about 5 miles from that hill! Very cool. 1st owner restoration. Should have some sort of award for that?

Very nice! I like the pics of all the old bikes, too....especially the XS650's! I have a couple of the old Yamahas myself, so I'm a little partial...

Egads! A yellow '76!

to quote randakk from another thread:
All true above, but the '76 "yellow" bike is actually more rare than the LTD based on production estimates...it is believed that only about 500 yellow bikes were produced.

Most collectible over the long haul would likely be a very early serial number '75 model.

Many collectors put a premium on the first version of a "classic" model (I do).

Plus, the color and handlebar ergos of the LTD are not favoured by some (including me).

All the more reason to keep mine, too! I really wish the PO hadn't painted it flat black but I'll get it back to Sulfur yellow someday.:-D
