Love your paintwork. That puppy is going to be a show-stopper.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. It has been a while since I posted. Took a bit of time off to work on property. Back at it in full swing. Heads rebuilt. Engine painted. Replaced water pump and clutch plates. Blasted and painted cases and everything else attached. All the covers painted and detailed. Gas tank powdercoated and installed. Brake calipers torn down and rebuilt. Wheels get installed tomorrow and on the floor it will be.

That racing bike on Post #6, the no. 51, screams 1979 Radian 600 to me. Plus, Mike, you appear rather tall for comfort to be on that seat, but surely it is modified to fit you. You are the racer?

This GL will never see the track. :) Just the roads. But Yes. I am building it to fit me. After I built that 750 in post#6. I realized that being bent over all the time was not working out with my tendonitis in elbows, so the GL is tailored more for a comfy ride.

The fairing is made from a steel stamping that artists use to display motorcycle tank art. I trimmed it to the shape that I wanted and to the contour of the headlight lens. Then I made two brackets that mount behind the stock Gl headlight mounts. The brackets are .080 thick. I had to do just a bit of shaping on the wheel to get the right spread on the material. But not much. I think it could simply have been done over the knee as well.
