Vetter bag Keys?

#1

Post by Old-Iron-Rider »

I have been to 3 locksmiths and every hardware store I can find and have not been able to make a spare set of keys for my Vetter bags. Does anyone know of a good source for making a spare set? Thx.

I don't think Vetter used the same locks twice. At least on the Vetter stuff I have. If your locksmith's are no help, you may not be able to get keys made, ever.

On my '76, I replaced ALL the locks with locks from Home Depot and rekeyed them the same. Locks were ~ $5or $6 each, so for all 6 locks was under $40.

PM or email me hi-res pics of your key(s) (both sides) and I'll see if I can come up with anything.

Good idea on new locks from the Home Depot. I"ll try that first, but keep you in mind if that fails. Thx.

Make sure to match up the physical lengths of the locks. They come in different sizes and IIRC, different lengths are used on the Vetter stuff, depending on where it's used.

Thanks for that input. I'll take the locks outa the bags and bring them to The Home Depot to match them up. I'll only need 5 locks. 2 for the bag lids, 2 for the quick releases, and 1 for the trunk.
