Looking up thermostats, radiator caps and such I ended up on Stant's website, they manufacture a lot of these parts for everyone.
They have a cross over list that is excellent, put in the Honda Part number is tells you what you want and possibly where about you can purchase it.
http://stant.com/index.cfm
Then to the right side click catalog.
I took the radiator cap part number as listed on Service Honda's website:
19045-692-003 (GL1100I Goldwing)
Put it into the search area in the catalog and receive:
Stant Part Info - 10229
Part Number 10229 (13 psi)
Product Type OE Type Radiator Cap
System Cooling System
Class Radiator Caps & Testers
Application Radiator Cap -
Number Required 1
There are tabs across the top that will list the vehicles this cap will fit into, as well as an entire listing of part numbers from every auto manufacturer that this fits on.
Ok so this only worked for the Radiator cap, this did not work for Thermostat nor Fuel Cap, but we already know what to use for the thermostat.
(Remember jiggle pin goes up!)
Socrace posted over on -> Steve Saunders Goldwing Forums > Forums > Goldwing Technical Forum > is there an aftermarket gas cap for gl1100
“Gas cap from '81 Honda Accord worked on my '81 GL1100.
It was about $5 at AutoZone.
Kinda cheap looking compared to the original but gets the job done. “
Stant cross references this to:
Fuel Cap
OE Equivalent Fuel Cap 10810
Regular Locking Fuel Cap 10582
You can take the Vehicles we know about, and the manufacturer part numbers and search the catalog with them and possibly get a wider selection of vehicles to choose from depending on what parts dealer you might have nearby.
So as usual with a little digging and poking may be required.

Re: Stant cross over list
I bought one of the Stant 10810 gas caps (for a Honda Accord) and it fit my GL1100 just fine. It doesn't work well with the retainer ring, but it sure fixed my problem with the gas cap not venting in. Engine would just quit once in a while. Found out it was due to vacuum in the tank that the fuel pump couldn't overcome.
