This isn't necessarily a "How To", as much as it is a "Don't Do"..... :shock:

The following are pictures of intake plenums.

The first is on a customers bike. He purchased the bike last year. Fired it up & road it a bit........ Look in the plenum, that's rust from the screens..... Not something you want to suck into the cylinders!!

The next shot is the mouse nest right in front of the breather intake:

A fair bit was on the filter, restricting air flow.........



The next is another customer bike. He couldn't figure out why she wouldn't run either........ BTW, that's another mouse nest:

Yes I charge extra for varment removal............... :evil:


So in closing:

Before you try to start a bike for the first time, check inside the plenum!

Gee, maybe we should make and install a plug for the plenum for us northern winter riders. I've had mice in my rides, too.

Well, as long as your bike doesn't set too long (as the first one did), & you have an air filter in it (as the second one didn't), you should be OK. But you want to look down in there anyways.... ;)
