2023 NGW run Sept 12 - 14

#1

Post by rcmatt007 »

Currently the moderator team is looking at having the 2023 eastern run near Fancy Gap in SW VA.

The question has come up whether we should go with a mid-week, or weekend gathering. Mid week would mean a working person would need to take a whole week off, whereas a weekend may allow only taking a a few days of vacation.

Potential dates would be:

Sept 8-10 (weekend) or;

Sept 12-14 (midweek).

I’m flexible … but I think the later date might be less crowded …

I like the midweek choice. But then I'm retired. Either would work.

Fancy Gap, huh...? I'll try to put this on my radar and get my '75 up to speed. It'd be nice to meet you guys and finally put all these names to faces. Accommodations are where...? Self-directed, or is this a KOA-campground kind of thing? That's about 4 or 5 hours for me from here, but I've been meaning to get back down to Blacksburg for lo these many years...it'd be just a hop/skip/and a jump from there down 81 to 77.

(FWIW, any interest in the Devil's Backbone Brewery in Roseland, VA? Beer, camping, Blue Ridge Parkway...https://www.dbbrewingcompany.com/)
