Sturgis 2018

#1

Post by skydog »

Hi all . '18 Sturgis Rally is starting up! I live 30 miles down the road , starting to roar already ! Took a trip up there today , to get a tire ,crazy already !!st day and it was getting packed already .I got a Dunlop 404 front tire for 67 bucks ! Half of what the local stealer wanted . Found a place with some used 1200 parts ,rare to see that up there. The driving tho :IDTS: People riding down the slab passing on the shoulder , cutting in front of other vehicles with inches to spare . Good way to end up a statistic , lost 2 yesterday , two on one bike and another guy in the hospital ,they blew a stop sign at speed and went under a semi . sad.So if your headed this way ,use your head please .If you do come look me up! If you come on a 1000 or 1100 I can hook you up with parts . Warren

Hope to meet you. I'm coming in on Wednesday for the rally. Hopefully I'll be able to get the 83 standard on the road, otherwise the backup is a Guzzi V11 EV.
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif

My brother in law and a few of his friends, trailered their bikes out there last weekend.
I think it was for a short visit and to cruise around seeing some of the sights. Personally, I don't get the "trailering" thing but to each his own...

The bikes do not enjoy being hit by bugs on the trailer. But when under their own power the bugs are delicious.
