Tried to reach Tuk late this morning but had to turn back about halfway there. Aside from the steady drizzle and colder temps, road grading and deep gravel, the last 20km or so was impassable by anything limited to 2 wheels. Six bikes were stuck and a flat bed tow truck was sent to retrieve them. We thought better of it and decided to turn around....after about a 10 minute cool off period (let rational thought processes return before we could muster the boldness to show the world how a late 70’s Goldwing could boldly go where no BMW or KTM could.
Obviously, reality won. Back in Inuvik preparing for the return trip to Dawson (not a piece of cake either).

From some pics on your Facebook page, looks like a wise decision. Hell of an effort.

That is an epic trip Tuktoyaktuk or not. Kudos to you guys. Heck, I'd have been proud to make Dawson City.
