12th Annual MidWest Ride
Now that winter is here, it is the perfect time to begin discussing the 12th Annual Midwest Ride!
I had such a great time on the last ride, I thought we could do it again. Only this time, the western part of the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. Perhaps have a multi-day ride. One day western and another day eastern. Perhaps lower Michigan as well. The main event however, should be the western ride. I was thinking the weekend after Fourth of July. Please note that nothing is chiseled in granite.
So, who's in?

Re: 12th Annual MidWest Ride
Family reunion is typically the weekend following the 4th, so might not work for me. We camp the week of the 4 near the reunion in Muskegon, perhaps Holland this year. So once the details are determined will see if the stars align.

Re: 12th Annual MidWest Ride
I may need to clarify the tentative date. July 4th is on Wednesday so the 4th weekend will be the 7th.
The date following is the 14th. I would like to see a multi-day ride starting on Thursday the 12th. Perhaps "Ground Zero" can be centered around Munising?? Marquette??

I'm about 75% sure we will participate. Just need a little more info... I'm curious, this is titled as the "12th Annual" ride. Is it associated with any particular group?

Re: 12th Annual MidWest Ride
Always loved driving through that area, but all of the UP is nice. Should be a nice locale. Two summers ago I drove through. Motel on the western side was around $40.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: 12th Annual MidWest Ride
The ride started out as a small group of Honda DOHC "F" riders ('79-'83). It has morphed into a riding group with all makes and models - including GoldWings. It makes no difference what you ride - all are welcome. They are a great bunch of guys (and girls) and once you attend one of their rides, you will make it every year. It really is loads of fun and you will not enjoy a nicer group.Track T 2411 wrote:I'm about 75% sure we will participate. Just need a little more info... The ride is scheduled for Friday July 13th through Saturday July 14th. One day will be Eastern UP and the other Western UP. Motel accommodations have yet to be announced but is rumoured to be in the Marquette area. People start showing up Thursday.
