Thank you!
I have to believe a stock configuration GL1000 with a sidecar ( most notably, with an OEM exhaust system, stock CV carburetors and an OEM gear ratio final drive ) would be a prime example for that rig's owner to dynamically compare my trike's engine mannerisms with their's. action1

I did have a sidecar on my 78. First a California sidecar and then a motorvation coupe. The bike was DEFINITELY under-powered for the very big/heavy motorvation car. It did okay with the Calif. car. It is important to remember that by the 78/79 wings the bikes were tuned more for touring/emissions and so had less power, but more mpg. The 75 has the most power of the 1000 series.

I might add, the 1200 always has had enough power for the sidecars.

darn! it turns out the residency graduation is June 15. As I mentioned it would be really bad form if the new program director did not attend. So I will miss seeing you all.

We looked at the pre-registration link but since we are not campers nor particularly early risers, the one day door at $10 per head is the best deal for us. Downtown Paris Friday before noon will be a nice time kick around Paris. Yes, still 8 weeks off but the weather is looking more inviting every day.

A pressing concern in my mind, before I even consider crossing the Border again, is how strict are the Canadian, motorcycle exhaust noise statutes?

I know the Police seem like fabrications in Canada, and most likely are polite as all get out, but I don't want to wear out my welcome with too much exhaust noise. :IDTS:

edit: I'll simply put my slash-cut catalyst mufflers back on the trike before I leave for the Show. That's the ticket! action1

Hey there, Brian! You heard the H-D catalyst mufflers on trike last September.

I rode 137 miles today with the newly installed Rush mufflers, that I first time rode 196 miles with yesterday. Clear as mud?
Acceptable yesterday, but barking, unmercifully on my ears, today! Ralph told me right off the bat yesterday the Rush mufflers are too loud.
I can't fathom why my perception of their sound changed so abruptly, just overnight!! I thought one or both had fallen off overnight. I have a rip roaring headache tonight.

Our projected forecast says we won't have suitable for riding weather again until next Monday.
The Rush mufflers are coming off tomorrow. Permanently. There's no 2 ways about it.

Although I'm dreading the project, maybe I can disassemble the H-D mufflers and totally remove the catalyst element from the inlet end of their baffle tube assembly.

If it weren't for the shear stubborness of the packing to release from the inside of the muffler shell, without badly wadding up, it would less stressful on my old self to modify them. Got to do something....
