The campground is east of Gananoque about 10-12 klicks, almost to Ivy Lea.

Ok, I'll take the bull by the horns. I will call a couple of motels in the area for rates and availability. I'll post on Monday.

I booked the Howard Johnsons in Gananoque. About 12 Klicks from the Koa. Lots of other choices is Gananoque. Since my room in Kingston was not able to be canceled, I made sure Gananoque was possible to cancel. At the moment my Kingston room at the Quality Inn is a loss.

Re: 2017 NGW Canadian Run, 1000 Islands, September 12, 13 and 14
Ok folks - here's a rundown of the two cruises being offered- If you're here for two days and up for it you can do both, or one, or none.
Also I have listed some attractions etc.
If you want fancy hotels Gananoque is the place to stay - Holiday inn and Suites, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn and Suites etc.
Capricorn Motel in Ivy Lea is cheapest.
Pecks Marina next
Any questions, ask here or PM me.
So here we go
There are two tours
Byways and Waterways Tour
Cruise historic and scenic Eastern Ontario byways starting at Gananoque and visit Jones Falls on the Historic Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cruise beside the majestic St. Lawrence River and Seaway – Highway H20. Eat lunch beside the Port of Johnston near the Johnstown Bridge to the US. Photo stops at the Battle of the Windmill site and Fort Wellington. Cruise through downtown Brockville and the 1000 Islands Parkway.
Forts and Ferries Tour (Passport required, Bridge Toll required, Ferry tolls required)
Cruise over the scenic 1000 Islands Bridges over top of the St. Lawrence Seaway – Highway H20 - and then cruise scenic byways on the US side of the St. Lawrence River. Head south to visit historic Sackets Harbour, headquarters of the US Fleet during the War of 1812. Return to Cape Vincent to cross the St. Lawrence to Wolfe Island on the privately operated Horne’s Ferry. Cruise across Wolfe Island to catch the provincial ferry to Kingston. Lunch in Kingston. Stop at Fort Henry then cruise the scenic Cty Road 2 taking the main ferry to Howe island and then returning on the "foot" ferry, then to Gananoque and back to the campground.

Okay... regarding where to stay.
After calling several places nearby (and not so nearby), the place to stay is the
Capricorn Motel
108 Ivy Lea Road
Ivy Lea, Ontario KOE 1LO
877-896-9217
There are rooms available at: Tuesday September 12 @ $99 and Wednesday September 13 @ $109.
They have a large parking lot which will accommodate trailers and (hopefully not) repairs. They are also biker friendly.
And it is virtually across the street from the "campsite". IMHO, this is the best place to stay for this ride.
