Went For a Ride Today

#1

Post by BlueThunder »

A bit chilly today 54F. But it was such a nice day that had to go for a 80 mile ride. The pictures were taken on Ocean Parkway which runs about 20 miles. On one side is the Atlantic Ocean and the other Great South Bay.

tumb2 Very nice photos, Brian!!
I wish the rides you took while in Saratoga Springs quite a few weeks ago, would have been as colorful as my ride to Whiteface Mountain last Thursday.

Thanks Cliff. The NorthEast Ride is scheduled for the weekend after Memorial Day. Location still needs to be finalized but looks like the Catskill Region. I'll start a separate thread with more information.

Well, another great day (82F) on Long Island. So naturally, I had a full gas tank that needed draining... 130 mile ride!

54F isn't cold, that's almost 13C! A couple of winters ago I went to work, 25 miles, when it was 28F (-2C) and I was cold before I got out the village, so last year I bought a car. It's a Kia Picanto in Honey Bee Yellow, 3 cylinders, 1000cc of South Korean magic, and we love her. Then, last year, just as the weather got really cold, Karens car broke down so she used my car to get to work, and I still ended up on the bike!!! Now that's love lolol

Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.
