The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride

#1

Post by gregforesi »

Ladies and Gentleman,
On September 25th, in 500 cities in 90 countries around the globe, motorcyclists will take part in the "Distinguished Gentlemans Ride" to promote awareness and research into Prostrate Cancer and Men's Mental Health. This is generally a Cafe/Brat/Bobber event and I will be riding the Trash Mobile down to Naples Florida to take part. Yes, there is a dress code. Yes, I will be wearing a tux and tails with top hat and cane. Yes, the cane may make clutching a problem.

We've all seen baseball players, hockey players, football players, et al wearing pink to promote awareness of breast cancer. This one is for the black and chrome/horsepower and wrenching crowd.

If you are so inclined (and I hope you are) and have a couple of dollars you don't need to spend on head gaskets, then whatcha gotta do is:

Go to: http://www.gentlemansride.com/sponsor

In the "Search for a Rider" box, enter "Gregory Foresi" (without the quotes) and hit the "View" button.

Pick an amount to donate (or enter a really outstanding amount of moolah in the box), and then hit the "Next" button. I believe you can make a donation via PayPal or credit card.

Your donation is tax deductible, and you can print a receipt for next April.

That's it boys and girls. Time to stand up and throw money at the problem.

Thanks in advance,
Greg (White Trash) Foresi

Heard about this. I think they have one in Detroit every year as well. I would love to do it at some point, but currently lack the attire to do so (among other reasons). One day....
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- It Runs (Poorly) and Doesn't Leak (Mostly)
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Broke the Chain And Ate the Motor
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete

All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

You're wearing your "Heavily Moderated" tee shirt underneath, right?
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Bump

Gentlefolk,
Don't make me come to your house and beat you up. I'm riding as a gentleman, and it would look really, really bad on my resume to come across as some kind of hard core biker dude.

What I am is a silly SOB that rides Goldwings and has decided that this one is a worthy cause.

There has been a bit of support here (thanks Chewy) and a couple of guys have decided to join in their home town runs. The rest of you slackers need to ante up (or quit hunting and join in the parade boss man!)

It's for prostate cancer. Remember...if it wasn't for your prostate - you wouldn't ride a motorcycle or have children. Sex would certainly be different.

I had a dream. Those that did not kick-in were forced to watch reruns of "Dancing with the Stars" for eternity. And then, right at the end, when you realize that the one you voted for is going to lose AGAIN...your cajones fall off cuz your prostate suffered from non-support.

If you can't support your very local prostate, whatchagonnado?...have an expensive operation and support somebody else's?

Greg (former: fireman, pirate, ski-bum, cop, tool designer, hockey player (though nobody ever called me one), fisherman, motorcyclist, slut, et al) Foresi

P.S.: Do it. I promise to make you all proud, or at least, you'll have a good laugh when I post the photos.

Hunting has a very limited run so come that time of the year I focus pretty hard on it. Interesting that I started on bikes and Hunting and Cigarettes all in 72. Over the years at different times I have given up each one for different reasons but always seem to find my way back :-? :-? :-? :-? :-?
