Michigan Irish Hills Ride 7-23-16

#1

Post by CBX-tras »

Some of us from SE Michigan (mostly F and X guys) and a few from out of state are riding next weekend, 7-23-16, in and around the Irish Hills of Michigan.

All bikes are welcome.

The ride originates in Plymouth, MI, through Chelsea, Manchester, stopping for a tour of a classic auto restoration shop, lunch on the lake at Jerry's, going by MIS, through Stockbridge, going to HELL and back to Plymouth.

If interested, we'll meet at the Chase Bank parking lot (south end) on the corner of N. Territorial Rd. and Sheldon Rd.
Stands up at 9:30. The address for your GPS is 235 Sheldon Rd. Plymouth, MI 48170

Always room for more, hope to see you there.

If I can get my 1200 sorted by then, I may actually try to hit this one. The Irish Hills is right in my backyard, and even though I'm starting at the "wrong" end (I'm down in Adrian) it still may be a fun ride.

I still need to rebuild my front shocks and get it plated, but it's very doable in a week. I have my GL1000, but the back tire is sketchy enough that I don't want to go much farther on it at all until I change it.
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- It Runs (Poorly) and Doesn't Leak (Mostly)
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Broke the Chain And Ate the Motor
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete

All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

We should be in Manchester about 10:30 if you want to join us there.

We'll see. My shocks are done, but I'm still waiting on a part or two to show up in the mail before the bike is roadworthy. If I get them, distance shouldn't be a problem. My 1200 (knock on wood) runs like a top, and loves to eat miles, so a bit of a longer ride should be okay.

I'll know more closer to the end of the week, but I'll keep you posted either way.
